Welcome to the Plainview Primary Counseling page. My name is Blaine Coffey and I am the school counselor for your Primary students here at Plainview. The 2024-2025 school year is my 10th year with Plainview and my 12th year counseling. I am very lucky to have the opportunity to do what I love and spend each day with your kiddos.
Below is a list of some of the duties I perform as a school counselor to promote academic, career, and personal/social development in our students:
- Social-Emotional classroom lessons
- Individual counseling
- Group counseling
- Case management and facilitation of assistance programs
- Crisis management
- Consultation and collaboration with students, parents, administration, teachers, and community members
- Student Intervention facilitation (MTSS)
- English Language Learners testing
- Attendance coordinator
- Special event planning (Red Ribbon Week, Food Drive, College & Career Awareness Week, Random Acts of Kindness Week)
